Please read my journal. I had surgery Oct. 8 for fixing my aneurysm and possible valve replacement. They were able to fix aneurysm and save my valve for another 15-20 yrs... So I was lucky. Make sure you find a surgeon who has done a lot of aneurysm/valve surgeries. (Example: my surgeon does 2 surgeries per day on MWF one week and TTH the next week) I feel so much better after the surgery.
Hang in there. Read all you can on this web site to give you strength and knowledge.

Ron Windred Carol, You were lucky! My surgeon doe's not only regular heart surgery , but also spends time in some the local islands, New Guinea and also Rwanda , performing heart surgery there , even on little babbies as well.

Ron, welcome to the Community. Read the Journals. They packed full of information. I am pre-op and so like you I am pickup info for my own situation. Once you find someone with some answer for your situation, write them in their Guestbook and they will respond. Since you are already booked for surgery, just take one day at a time and follow what is requested. Ask questions, even if you think they are silly. They are not, so ask the doctor and the nurses, etc... Have a good evening and keep us posted on your progress.
