I have three days to have to myself before my operation and constraint to the life within my Hospital. On top of that will be my recovery however painful that will be, everything should be OK . I keeping quite positive and that I believe will help me, and having a bit of faith with the hospital and surgeon ,I am pleased with that and it seems I may be getting a St Jude mechanical, but will find out more on Monday. Had the interview , x-ray, blood test and run with the ECG, etc , the usual prep for the operation, I guess.

I have just received invite to my hospital for an interview with Nurse and my Surgeon next week , to discuss operation . Also will rally a number of questions on anything and everything.. Its just under 2 weeks from operation, and feeling some sort of weird vacuum of emotions.I know my life is about to change substantially and feels a bit like a roller coaster and finishing work at a great job doesn't help either.

I go in for surgery on the 9th December to have an aortic aneurysm and aortic valve done at the Norwest Private Hospital in the western part of Sydney Australia. My surgeon is Dr. Ian Nicholson. I am getting a mechanical valve, don't know which one yet (probably St Jude). Seems I have a dodgy valve for a while--- probably caused the aneurism , but apart from that I',m reasonably healthy, and that's why my surgeon opted for a power valve as he figured there is plenty of life in this old bus yet!
