Hi Paul: I wondered maybe you\'d appreciate this line of thinking that came to me the other day. I was at a memorial service for a friend\'s wife who was taken by cancer. A year ago when I was facing my surgery she was facing her own illness with grace, humor and love. I took a lesson from her and tried to do the same. By her example she really helped me out, even though I never knew her well at all. You see, I don\'t really believe a better place awaits us, rather I believe that its up to us to make heaven on earth to the extent we can. Well, she made a little piece of heaven for me, and I try myself however imperfectly to pass it on. The journals here are a good place for it - those of us who\'ve been through it lend a hand to the next crowd. And then they in turn help out the one that follows. So, while the preacher was talking about Shannon touching our lives and that touch in turn spreading from us to others it really made a lot of sense to me. We never know what one example, what one act will eventually accomplish because the influence spreads and spreads, far out of our sight and beyond our time. What makes it different from just random physics is that our acts and examples are intentional. To the extent our acts and examples are good and spread by influencing others to make good acts and examples, we are creating heaven right here on earth even after we are gone. Maybe even especially after we are gone. So even though I don\'t believe there\'s anything at all after, it seems we can still create goodness through others then, and possibly even an unbounded amount. That thought wowed me. -- DVB

beats, and BP steady in therapetic range, 116 74 66 etc.
Result of weaning off the metoprolod. Down to 12.5 mg daily, result being pace maker redundant. Back to regular exertional sessions included with the arryhthmia.
There is a thresh hold where you get the sense you're on your own and there's only so much medical science can do. I promise myself to be "reasonable" with every decision, carefully researched, pondered and thought through.

Hey Paul, sounds like things are sorting out. They wanted me to be on metropolol for a year after surgery. But it was limiting me athletically. So after 6 weeks and 2 weeks into rehab I weaned off. I think you are right that recovering patients who are more active than normal need to be on a different schedule for that drug. It seems that we each train our doctors some - hopefully that makes it easier for the next patient through the mill. Peace bro -- DVB
