Margie, I've been reading your postings, but they are all pre-surgery. It's March 17, and there is nothing about how it all went and how you are doing now??? You have been in y thoughts and prayers. We are still traveling in the south with our trailer. We are presently near Lafayette,
Louisiana. We will probably be in Louisiana for about a week. Meeting friends in Gulf Shores, Alabama next week.
I just sent in my money for the spring knitting retreat at Treehaven. Will you be well enough to attend?
Let me know how you are doing!
Your roomie, Ruth

Margie,
I woke up in the icu with a bra on...not sure how they managed it. They said my surgeon always does that. It was very tight with a zipper and hooks in the front. I wore it day and night. Eventually, one of the nurses got me a second one and hand washed the first so I could put on a clean one after each shower. When I got home I switched to a cotton bra, no wires, back hook that I picked up at Kohl's. After the 2nd week I was back in my regular underwire bras. I started wearing a bra day and night after surgery because it holds the incision and everything else in place.
I am glad you were able to get things finalized. About the tube....I think I got to ICU around 4, the nurses "bathed" me, she took the tube out before her shift ...Read more

Margie kovacic Thanks Clare for the encouragement. It's the one thing I am scared about. Everyone at the dr. Office says I will feel so much better after the surgery.
Clare I've been hearing about a special bra? Do you know anything about it?

I do not remember anything about the tube, although they tell me I fought it (like most people). I believe you will be in la-la land while it is in. I have no memories from the time they rolled me into the OR until a few hours after they removed the tube.

Margie kovacic She told me if I wasn't concerned she would be worried. It's natural for us to be worried.

My priamry called me yesterday afternoon to tell me they had just faxed all my test results to the surgeon, and I could go ahead and schedule the pre-op tests. Head, meat desk. My pre-op testing was all done last week. And I only had to pay $120 cash for a blood test because my primary's office was "unavailable". The clerk seemed like she didn't care. I can't wait to find a new doctor! Good luck on getting the surgery date you want!
