leslie, keep in mind you can request your films (usually come on a CD) from your local doctor where the tests were done. request multiple copies. this sometimes takes an in person visit to the office (cardiologist or hospital) where the tests were done. by law, they have to give them to you - they are yours to have. you can send echocardiogram, EKG, TEE (if you have one - TEE is nice to have but not mandatory) CDs  to WVU, cleveland clinic, etc. Consultation does not have to be in person. it can be done over computer or phone. many never actually go to the hospital until surgery date.
