Hi Lea, I can relate to being shocked at the swift change from mild to severe. Same here. My understanding is that neither COVID nor the vaccines have this effect on the heart valves. My doctors said it was probably a weakness I was born with and I was fortunate it gave me over 60 years without trouble! Thinking of you during tomorrow's surgery. Your photo is so peaceful; I agree with Grace - it is a wonderful place to visualize to manage your stress. Also, don't worry about crying...it is healing. Just let your body feel what it feels.

Good Luck! I hope that all goes well for you. It's very scary to go through this operation. And, you may have some up and down days after surgery. But, I am 5 months from my surgery and am feeling so much better. Try and go to the cardiac rehabilitation classes and physical therapy sessions if they are offered and you feel that you need them. Both helped me physically and emotionally. I wish you the best!
