Hi John, looks like I am going in hopefully for a Mitral Valve repair the day after yours. I am also having a Maze Procedure because I have recently had bouts of AFIB. Wish you a successful surgery.

John - I had a mini-thoracotomy mitral valve repair. My surgery was on Friday morning and I went home around mid-day on Monday. Listen to the nurses instructions. Walk-as soon as they'll let you and you'll be out in no time. Hang in there - waiting is the worst part.... Read more.

Thank you Jerimiah. I finally met with Dr Gammie and the surgery is a go for August 5th at UMMC. Thanks so much for the feedback. I am feeling much better about it. I pray a lot more these days.
