"I went in to see Dr. Gammie for my mitral valve and was instantly put at ease by him and his amazing staff. After leaving the office I was scared but feeling very confident on my upcoming open heart surgery to fix this. Dr. Gammie is the only one I would trust to do this . He is a brilliant surgeon. From the first office visit to stay in hospital to my post surgery appointment I was treated with care and compassion. He gave me a new life and can't thank him enough. "

"Dr. Gammie is amazing. He did a mitral valve repair on my mom in 2010 and when I learned I would need the same surgery in 2012, there was no one else I considered. He is an excellent surgeon...he was able to do my surgery through my side (minimally invasive) and now almost 7 years later, you can hardly see my tiny scar. His bedside manner is wonderful and he explained everything so well. I highly recommend him to anyone in the mid-atlantic area. I now live in Delaware but if the need arises again, I won't hesitate to return to Baltimore for Dr. Gammie! "

"Dr. Gammie's has outstanding bedside manner, very personable, easy to speak with, very responsive, skilled and caring. I still keep in touch with him today via email. The UMMC where I had the surgery is state of the art. It's been 4 years since the surgery and I am doing well with no heart valve issues."

"In addition to my valve repair and valve replacement, I had a bypass all at the same time (8 hours). The procedure went very well and was very successful. I am able to go about my normal life without shortness of breath or exhaustion. Dr. James Gammie was very helpful both before and after the surgery. Plus, he was very attentive during recovery. Lastly, Dr. Gammie had an excellent bedside manner and good sense of humor!"

"Dr. Gammie was excellent. I had a fantastic experience with the whole thing and have felt much better since having the surgery almost two years ago. I feel indebted to Dr. Gammie."

"Dr. Gammie is the best. He keeps up with all technology and gives classes, seminars. Not only did he take care of my valves (damaged from Rheumatic Fever at 7yrs), he also had to "shave" quite alot of my septum as it was so enlarged. He practices at University of Maryland Baltimore Medical Center with his wonderful team. He really takes care of you and is such a nice energetic person. I'm doing great and going strong."

"I am 42 years old and Dr. Gammie and his team performed minimally invasive mitral valve repair on me because I had several ruptured cords on my mitral valve. Dr. Gammie and his assistant Mary made me feel very comfortable. He is a pioneer in this type of surgery. EXCELLENT!"
