I thnk the best part of your message was John being able to go to the neighbor's and you having a margarita:) Glad you have Spring Break now so you can take good care of John at home and drink all the margarits you want ---cuz you don't have to go to work the next day. Thanks for keeping us up to date. Love, The Ecuyers
I finally have internet service. We loved seeing you as part of our Mardi Gras trip this year! Sorry it was in the hospital. We were relieved to see John looking so good...although pale from the nausea. We thought about the Johns while diving in Roatan. They would have LOVED it! Shark dives, night dives, dives, dives, dives...very exciting! Joan and Katie...you would have been thrilled walking with me on the beautiful beach just looking at all the sights and the chrystal clear water. We will have to plan a trip to Roatan when this little life interruption is OVER.
I am so proud of the Serice children and Gray for all the help, support, and care they have given you and John during this time of need. They are the best!!!!!!
Great news to hear he's getting up and around. All short walks count! As well as starting to eat, even though I know he was actually looking forward to those few pounds dropping. The gang will miss you at dinner for the next couple of Friday's but it won't be long. The prayers haven't stopped, just moved to the recovery stage! Love, Wanda and Ismael
We are so glad everything went well. You were in our prayers all day and you will also be in our prayers tomorrow. Tell Joan I missed her today. Hope you have a quick recovery. If there is anything we can do let us know. Thanks.
The Murphy family wanted you to know that you and Joan will be in our thoughts and more importantly in our prayers as you undergo surgery tomorrow. We are sending you faith, strength and courage, and hope to see you blessed with a speedy recovery!
Good luck tomorrow! We are hoping to come for a quick visit on Saturday during our layover on our way to Roatan! We have a car rented for the morning. I'll check with Joan to see if you are up for a brief visit from the Landry clan. We would love to see you and give you a hug of encouragement on Saturday.
Our thoughts and prayers will be with you tomorrow.
Glad to hear that there is a date! Waiting can be so hard! Will continue the prayers and know that you will have a successful surgery and a speedy recovery:) We love you,
Ted, Maria, Aimee, and Richard

John, Hey I just logged on to check on some people I keep up with on here and read your post. I am six months past my aortic valve surgery due to endocarditis. I had the same course of antibiotics. First off best of luck to you and secondly it is not nearly as your mind is making it out to be. I had some great people on here who helped answer my questions and if there is anything I can help you with please don't hesistate to reach out.
You may be surprised that the pain doesn't last as long as you think it will, and the doctors give you plenty of pain pills to keep you comfortable. Follow their directions, and you won't suffer. Although the pain comes and goes (bedtime is usually strongest), most of us who've been through it were both surprised and pleased that the chest pain abated within a few days. A lot of us switched to Tylenol for daytime pain control in just four or five days. You may experience a backache about 5-10 days after the surgery, but you'll have plenty of pain pills to get you through.
Just follow the doctor's instructions, and you'll be amazed at how quickly you recover from this.
Best of luck and happy heart healing.
