That's a rare event to have a mechanical valve replaced, and at 3 years wow... Sorry to hear that.
Was there a issue with the INR level? What level did they have you at, 2 to 3?
What Brand Valve do you have, ON X,.. ST. JUDE,...or something else?

Hannah Prestidge Thanks Jason, I kept my INR between 2 and 2.5 and yes i have a St Judes 23mm valve. I have also been a type one diabetic for 49 years which adds another challange. I havent managed to find anyone else with a clot on the aorta valve yet
Jason Hyrup Hi Hannah, Sound like you did everything you could with the INR levels. Your body may need to have a higher INR level who knows. Are you having a Mechanical valve again or Bio. If you go mechanical i would do the OnX Valve. They are a better valve, (as i read) with a lower chance of forming a clot on the valve. Man i hope you have that taken care of soon. ... Read more
