Hi Destry, Ill be praying for you and your heart surgery. I have severe aortic stenosis with bicuspid valve. I'm meeting with my doctors soon for consultation to do tests to see if I can get the Tavir valve. Please be strong and brave and trust God to get you through.

Destry, I just read your story. It’s similar to mine in that I was diagnosed with Mitral Valve Prolapse and for years had minimal regurgitation. Last May, my Echocardiogram showed moderate to severe and the subsequent TEE showed severe regurgitation. I had many many symptoms. I had a repair 5 weeks ago and am recovering. It’s a slow process, but listen to your body and do what the MDs tell you. You have a great medical team and your confidence in the surgeon is key. My prayers are for a successful surgery and complete recovery. Keep us posted.

Destry LeBrun Hi Adam, This video actually convinced me to put Dr. Lewis on the "short list" of surgeons who we wanted to perform the operation. After viewing it the first time, there was no other surgeon I wanted. He did not disappoint. He is obviously a great surgeon but he is also a great man. He and his staff treated my family like royalty. He spent so much time with us the day before surgery. He wanted to make it clear to them that my condition was not due to anything they may have done during pregnancy. Dr. Lewis was clear and thorough during our consultations. He was able to repair my severely leaking Mitral Valve to the point that there is zero leaking!

There is power in prayer, power in people, power in love, power and support, power through God’s Army. And you have all of this on your side! What a glorious Blessing! Thanks Jimmy and Muhammad. Jimmy, Thanks for the verse. This is exactly how we are approaching this surgery, with strength and courage. The very same way the teams I rode for approached big races. There was always better, more gifted cyclist with more expensive equipment. The one thing I knew 100 percent, there was not a person there who could outwork me or my team. We didn't always win but it wasn't because we gave up. God allowed me to compete against Goliaths with hearts that probably worked at 100 percent. God has taught me to have a great deal of tenacity while working with less. For that, I am thankful.
