Jennifer Holly Good luck with your Valentines procedure. Since my surgery is next month at Northwestern, I would be very interested in being part of the study. Do you have a phone number I could call?

David,
As a fellow runner, I am interested in hearing what your experience with running with BAV. I run marathons and have been scared to get back at it with my BAV. It's not yet time for my surgery yet, but I am also considering the Ross and repair over a mechanical or pig valve. As of now I have no limitations other than not lifting more than 100lbs. Currently have mild regurgitation and a 4.4 dilated aorta.
You're in good hands at Cleveland Clinic. I hope to go there when the time comes. Hope to hear from you!

David R Hey Ben! I have slowed down my running and run only in heart rate zone 2. I cancelled entry to a half marathon and marathon I was signed up for based on feedback from the cardiologist. They said there is no solid data that you shouldn't run that hard or far, but didn't see any reason to chance it.
I'm currently running about 15-20 miles a week in heart rate zone 2, it was hard running slower than I wanted to, but I still enjoy the run.
David R I should also mention that I decreased my mileage, I try to keep all my runs under 1 hour total.
