Hi Chris,
I see you’re planning on having a Ross procedure. I just had a Ross procedure in March 23 as a 24 year old. I was just cleared to train for a half-marathon and I feel great. Try not to over think things. Surgery is scary but in 2024 the success rates for this stuff is incredible. Good luck and feel free to reach out if you have any specific questions and I’ll try to answer based on my experience.

Hi Chris, Welcome! You have come to a great place for support through the waiting and recovery of heart valve surgery 😊 Reading your story I see you have already been through a lot of recovery this year and had to advocate for yourself and your healthcare. You are already starting with a veteran status! I am eleven weeks out of OHS, having a Ross procedure and replacement of my ascending aorta which was dilated with a 5.1cm aneurysm, so I am still recovering but doing pretty well after a short time. I am not back to my previous strength and stamina yet, but I am working on that in rehab and I started back to work(desk)half days last week. There are several other members here who have also have had Ross procedures. If you have any questions I would be happy to answer them the best I am able.🤗
