Audrey posted a note for Cecilia that says:
Hi mom, I was googling you and dad and this came up, its interesting to look back on it and see how well you recovered, your scar is so small now. I think its been about 3.5 to 4 years since you had surgery. glad youre doing well love you!
Good to hear you are okay. Yes, heart surgery is definitely not the church picnic. I wasn't allowed to start rehab until at least 7 weeks after surgery. Guess we are all different in that regard. I would think that if you are starting this soon you would be starting quite slowly at first. At any rate, don't push yourself. You have lots of time to make your come back. Keep in touch. Cheryl, Ontario
Did you read Adam's book or most recently on his blog where someone asked the question about how soon to start rehab? I guess the answer is different for everyone, but if you don't think you're ready then wonder how well you'll do? You'll make the right decision. Keep posting.Positive thoughts to you.
I am back from the hospital. I spent eight days there and things went well. I have a mechanical valve called the ON-X.The surgeon daid that my heart was too small for the pig valve.I now have ot take coumadin which is a real bummer. But life goes on. MY sister was supposed to keep everyone posted as to what was going on in the hospital, but we all forgot about it. The whole surgery and recovery was so much for all of us to absorb. I start cardiac rehab this Tuesday, just two weeks after surgery. I guess they think us Alaskans are tough. I hope I can do it so soon after surgery. I'll let you know how I do in rehab.
You're gonna do great mom! Its snowing a ton outside so I have to go so I can make it to the hospital on time but you're a trouper and I'm totally confident that you'll be fine. See you in an hr. and a half! I love you! <3 Audrey
Time is getting closer, glad you're having a super Super Bowl party. That should help distract you. Wishing you an excellent surgery and great recovery. I still have to wait until March for my surgery. Can't come soon enough for me. Will follow your updates. Which team are you rooting for?

Can't imagine what it feels like in the last couple of days in the lead up to surgery (but only 17 days until I can answer that for myself!). Thinking of you and wishing you a safe and speedy recovery. Looking forward to reading your updates.
Thanks so much for your kind words, thoughts and prayers. They are very much appreciated. We go for pre op today at the hospital and best of all, we pick up Regina at the airport. We are planning on having a GREAT superbowl party on Sunday and then on Monday, go in and get my heart fixed. They changed the time for surgery,so now we don't have to be there until 8:00am instead of 6:ooam.So we don't have to be there super early.I have to go and get ready to go to the hospital for pre op. Take care.
