good luck catrina I had open heart surgery twice in 1998 in Portland ore again in 2007 at mayo clinic in Rochester mn iam 56 years old .....David

Best wishes for a great outcome and smooth recovery. I have a mechanical valve too (On-X this time) and I do my best to stay consistent with my Coumadin and diet (a little greens, a little wine nearly everyday). What ever you do, just be consistent :-) .
