I eventually got admitted as an emergency with a severely leaking mitral valve . Tell them that you would like a face to face appointment with a gp . They can ‘t check your heart over the phone . Hi adam , welcome , I know you must be very worried . Due to covid and everything getting delayed , everything is taking much longer than usual . If I were you , I would keep phoning your g p and see a g p to get examined again . Hopefully , they will bring the heart Surgeon appointment forward . Your g p should liaise with the cardiologist . Another thing you could do , might be to phone the cardiologist ‘s secretary and leave a message or messages for your cardiologist . try sleeping a bit propped up and your heart beat might sound less noticeable . Try and avoid or reduce things that might make your heart beat faster - caffeine , coffee , tea , chocolate ( especially dark chocolate ) energy drinks , alcohol , stimulants . If you are on any medication , check the side affects . Take care and we ‘re here if you need to chat .

I’ll keep trying to pursue. There’s only so much that can be done online or via a phone call.
I’m most worried about the new pain and low diastolic blood pressure reading. Latest one was 124/49.
Surgery also making me worried, not helped by how long everything seems to take.
