I have been diagnosed with aortic stenosis. I’ve had blood test, CT scan & ultrasound and now waiting on next step for TAVR. I am in my 80’s but have always been active and in good health. So I am getting nervous because hospitals are filling up with covid patients
Could someone who has had this procedure give me an idea of what comes next and how soon I can expect to have TAVR.
Thanks

Marie Myers A good friend of mine had TAVR at age 98, and she did well. She was in the hospital 2 nights, and the procedure relieved her chest pain and shortness of breath. She went on to celebrate her 100th birthday. I myself had the full sternotomy version AVR along with an ascending aortic and root aneurysm repair. I know she had the easier recovery...Rest assured that you will be far away from the active Covid patients when you have your procedure. Wishing you a smooth journey!
