I try to follow Kelly Leveque's guide of protein, fat, fiber, and greens. Avocado is handy, since it provides fat and fiber and it's green! My surgery was in January last year, and all I wanted was something warm, so instead of smoothies, I mostly stuck to bone broth soup during the first phase of recovery. Once I started cardiac rehab, I tried to make smoothies, but if I was too tired, just blended some MCT powder with whey protein and skipped the green part.
