Fiirst of all, I am confused and worried, with my health condition, the cardiologist, is not planning surgery, and was mine in agreement. With two leaking valves, and a third not bad. With I.B.S., for some years I lost about twenty pounds, I was usually about 115 most of my life, therefore I am not in good condition. I am unable to think clearly.

Richard Munson Maybe some of our Canadian friends can give this lady some advice. I usually suggest 2nd and 3 rd opinions but our health care system in the USA is different. But i can sense her fear about her health and not getting explanations from her cardiologists is frustrating. I tend to be pushy when i am not satisfied with answers but everyone is not me. Thankfully.

Suzette Schear Hi Sharon, it’s okay to worry and be nervous it’s a lot to think about and having IBS Is a stressful thing . I have several friends that have that and it makes traveling hard. You need to be your own advocate. I have a friend in Canada and her appointments are set up with what seems like too much time in between visits. susan harris valves can leak for 20+ years before surgery is done. the leakage progresses from mild, moderate to severe. ask about your level of leakage! i suggest get several copies of your echocardiogram and any other tests you’ve had-usually comes on CD. call teaching hospitals (any chance you’re near university of montreal? they have history of heart specialty i think. send your test results. (it should be easy to have doctors send to other doctors but in my experience, i had to take action myself. as richard said, not sure how canadian insurance works so i don’t want to frustrate you. do you have someone who can help you do this? it’s really important to get a second opinion!!!!
