Just joining the site. I found out about my aortic insufficiency in October 2015 and by January 2016 it had progressed to the point of needing surgery. Heading to Cleveland Clinic for surgery on thursday March 10. Glad i found this site.....helps to address some of my anxieties.

Sophia Ridley Scott, you have found a wonderful site for information, compassion and support. I couldn't have got through my mitral valve repair without being a member here. It was a relief to talk with others who knew exactly what I was going through.
Very best wishes for your surgery and a smooth recovery. I do recommend that you get Adam's book as it answers lots of questions.

Wanda Mroz Scott I was initially given 3 months and that was extended to four because the wait list for rehab was really long. I was doing fine... But my dr wanted me to heal and rest. I have a non strenuous job but it is stressful. I'm a shift supervisor at a 911 center. Take as much time as you can get. Give yourself time to heal. Best wishes!
