I have caught omicron and i have a bio prosthetic aortic valve . My valve is 18 months old . I have had 3 covid vaccinations in the last year . I am now sick with a head ache, aches and pains a mild sore throat . I have had the symptoms for 3 days and initially tested negative . Now 3 days later i test positive . MY symptoms are not much better , nor worse for the last three days . I am tired . What is my risk ? when will i likely recover ? Do i need to take even more care than other people do as they recover ?

Patsy Stewart You need to call your cardiologist’s office or even your GP’s office for the best advice. If they think you are at high risk for complications, there are medications they can consider giving to you. Prayers are being sent your way that you get through this and feel better.
Rose Madura Oh my! Hope you feel better soon. I agree with Patsy.

Steve Neal I tested positive too yesterday. Just less that 4 weeks post op from a mechanical aortic valve replacement. Thankfully no symptoms. The clinical staff at my hospital weren’t concerned at all - said the main risk is the 2 weeks before the operation

Hi,
Am I cured ?
In December last year i had my congenital bicuspid aortic valve replaced . Subsequently I feel great . But am I cured ?
Apparently not , when I ask my medical insurer to remove the "preexisting conditions" that particularly focused on absolutely no insurance cover for anything associated with medical or surgical treatment of the valve defect .
So now I don't have the valve any longer, so do I still have the preexisting conditons that denied me any treatment before ?
Your thoughts ?
cheers

Marie Myers So frustrating! For insurance companies, not paying claims is the first rule , it seems. So i guess I am not surprised that they would not remove that rider from your policy. Any way to appeal their decision?
