I had Robotic Mitral Valve surgery just over 2 months ago. I went for my follow up appointment last week. My ECHO showed no regurgitation but my Ejection Fraction is only 32%. While I was in the hospital and had my post surgery ECHO my Ejection Fraction was 50%. My cardiologist told me that this happens sometimes. My resting heart rate is usually 98. Before surgery it was around 70. My Ejection Fraction was about 60% prior to surgery. My cardiologist explained that the ECHO's prior to surgery was showing a higher Ejection Fraction because it measured the blood that was going into my ventricle and also the regurgitated amount. Has anyone had an experience like this before?
