Hi Everyone! I'm a 61 year old male, and getting ready to have an ascending aortic repair with possible aortic valve replacement. I have the option of the On-X or Bovine valve. Need help deciding on which one to ask for, looking for any input from guys my age. Thanks!... Read more.

It is a tough decision. At 63, I went with the bovine tissue valve, mostly to avoid Coumadin. So far I am at 9 years, and my cardiologist just assured me that I can TAVR next time, and probably once after that. Hoping he is correct!
