Hello everyone, I have bicuspid valve aortic stenosis that has been monitored my whole life. I recently crossed to the severe range so I am scheduled for surgery December 10th. I am having the Ross procedure done, as I felt this fit best for my lifestyle. I’m 32 years old and very active. Has anyone else had this procedure done? I’m absolutely terrified and I just want the date to get here so I can stop worrying. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you so much.

Jay Heagerty Holly, you know the old song "The Waiting is the Hardest Part". Soon you will be on the recovery side and at your age, I would think that will go well. Stay positive and best of luck to you.

Paul Lechiaro Hi Holly,
I also had a bicuspid aortice valve which went from moderate to severe stenosis. Had my surgery on 11/18 and am back home. Did not have Ross procedure. You will do fine and being scared is very normal. Remember these surgeons are pros. As someone had mentioned to me a few days prior to my surgery “trust the process.”
