I am still on clouds of joy since the birth of my first grandchild. Emma Gail was born on Feb. 9, weighing 6 lbs, 6 ozs. She is absolutely adorable! She has added years to my life and I'm so thankful to be blessed with this precious grand baby. It's amazing that she seems to be comforted with the ticking sound that comes from my mechanical valve. She can be a bit fussy and I will hold her close to my chest and she stops crying! Gosh! I just love her to pieces!! :)

This is the 4th day that I've been inside. It's frigid cold in the south! But, it's been rather nice staying inside, watching old movies and eating chili and soup. Also, I've had time to read Adam Pick's informative book- A Patient's Guide to Heart Valve Surgery and find the information for this journal. I just wish that I'd had this book when I was first faced with decisions concerning my heart. I'd like to thank Adam for writing this book and for creating a web site that will help "Valvers" deal with issues that will help us grow stronger each and every day.
