Knew for years I had a bicuspid---but didn't seem to bother me---until my 61st birthday, Nov 5 2016 when I was forced to drive myself to emergency room gasping for air. I have gone through every test/procedure know to mankind (seems like it anyway) and the faulty valve and aortic root needs to be replaced via open heart. This site and Adams book have been very helpful and reassuring. First surgeon visit is Feb 1 so will hopefully soon have some answers. I don't have a large support system (both work full time jobs) and am a little nervous about this and my in home recovery---But I am strong willed and with God's help will make it happen.
