Also, I wonder about the Admedus' "CardioCel" product http://www.admedus.com/us/product/cardiocel/. This link shows a similar procedure as Dr. Ozaki, only it uses "CardioCel® a single-ply, bio-scaffold that remains functional, durable and free from calcification." In time the body replaces the collagen material (stripped on any DNA), that is stitched into the heart with the patient's own cells. Pretty exciting I would think!
Does anyone have UNBIASED knowledge or experience of this procedure?
I'm curious about the procedure Dr. Ozaki has been doing http://icvts.oxfordjournals.org/content/12/4/550.full. This link addresses the procedure INCLUDING the question about sizing of the leaflets. I am sure if this procedure is as successful as it appears, it will be common practice one day.
