Hi, It has been forever since I posted (not because I don't read everyones or I don't care) but because I am lucky that the post full-monty with aortic valve and patch has gone so well. Dr. Madani at UCSD was/is the best. Since my surgery, almost four years ago, things have been great. All of you are in my thoughts every day. My son, Christian, has been a long term patient at good ole USC Keck Cardiology since birth. He is doing well also. Live well and prosper, Dan

My, my, it has been six months since the surgery to replace my aortic valve and place a dacron patch on the ascending aorta. This site has been a great help in understanding the whole process. I seem to have been very fortunate. My surgery was done by Dr. Michael Madani at UCSD in La Jolla CA. He such a talented and caring person. My surgery went well and I was out of the hospital in three days and back to work in a little over 5 weeks. Since then, my recovery has been unremarkable and I have felt great (although I did not feel bad before the surgery). I had a bovine valve implanted and don't regret it. Live long, Dan
