One year has passed since surgery and I'm feeling great. Tomorrow, I leave for a scuba dive trip in Bonaire, a sport I haven't done for over 2 years. I raced my son a couple of days ago in a 30 yard dash and kept close. Maybe with a little more effort I'll beat him next time.
It has been 10 weeks since surgery. It seems like this week has been a "turning point", in that for the first time, I feel REALLY better than I have for 2 years! I've been doing some heavy yard chores without shortness of breath. And I've been doing some very brisk walks at the local high school track. I'm feeling wonderful.
Hi everyone. Surgery is over and I am home. As you all know, it was an uncomfortable for a few days. It turns out I had a large aneurysm of the aortic artery. It was about 2.5 inches in diameter. Surgery was just in time. I got home today and will be obeying the doctor's orders
Tomorrow, Tuesday, I am scheduled for surgery at 7:30 am., at Loma Linda Hospital. I am very excited to finally get this matter done. I look forward to a few weeks ahead and returning to a normal life.
I learned a few weeks ago that it was time for surgery. The knowledge that surgery was a possibility has been with me since high school days. That was 45 years ago. Eventhough I had years to prepare, I was still surprised to hear the doctor's recommendation.
I'm scheduled for surgery on July 12th, at Loma Linda Hospital in California. There are a lot of things for me to do before surgery, such as tests, xrays, and home preparation.
I don't worry about the surgery but the recovery seems pretty tough.
