Two weeks post surgery and I feel better than I thought I would. Can't wait to see the cardiologist about why they put me on Amerodion.I expected a short period on warfarin but theven Amerodion looks like it has a lot of bad side effects.

Clayton, did you have afib? That's why I had to have Amiodarone for a few months. True about side effects, but I was told it's the best rhythm med.
Hi catie,I had one episode post surgery , I suspect I probably had some pre surgery but thought they were indigestion. Just don't want to be on it to long
That may be why. I hear you, wanting to stop as soon as they'll let you.
Hi Clayton..have had lots of AFIB and a-flutter since my surgery. Right after surgery I was on Amiodarone, Cardizem, Digoxin, and Metropolol..now 4 months later I'm still on the Amiodarone and Metropolol. Even the docs would like to get me off the Amiodarone...talk to cardiologist..sometimes AFIB after surgery takes more... Read more.
I'm on Amiodarone and Metrolpol due to Afib and aflutter after the surgery. Since I'm very symptomatic to this, my cardiologist wants to keep me on them for a while. Dealing with the side effects (for me) is worth any kind of Afib or aflutter attack. I think it's fairly... Read more.
I guess I didn't realize how common it is to be treated for AFIB with amiodarone post surgery , guess I'll just have to learn to be patient LOL
Went to my cardiologist for the first time since surgery, he says I can expect about a two month period of being on the Amiodarone to make sure that the AFIB is stabilized . He told me to be patient LOL
