Live in Canada. Had Open Heart Surgery Dec.6 2021 in Toronto.....Surgery was for removal of Papillary Fibroelastoma non malignant heart tumour
It was benign. I live in London Ont. New Year's Eve ended up in ER here with what was referred to as mild level of blood clots in both Lungs. Knew I was not doing as well the last 2 weeks. Breathing became very difficult....if this was mild clots can't imagine what moderate feels like....started on ELIQUIS 5MG BID. Feeling better and stronger. Starting next week with anticoagulant clinic. Wondering if there is genetic component. My dad had DVT.
I have mild heart disease as I live a very healthy life style. My fibroelastoma was an incidental finding on an Echocardiogram as part of an detailed 5 hr. physical. Not something that occurs in physicals here in Ontario Canada. So my journey has restarted working up my walking levels. Cardiologist hard to find here as well. Have appt for one Feb.2/22
That is 2 months post op ....that is too long after open heart. So need to get that changed.
Keeping hydrated and bowels moving is essential in terms of bloating that can create pain as well in shoulders and back.....so hope my recovery gets back on track. Having to go to ER during Omicron is stressful enough.
