My husband will have mitral valve surgery in a couple of weeks. We are probably going to rent or buy a recliner for him to use during recovery, but I don't know where to put it. Our bedroom is upstairs, but he'll probably want to be downstairs during the day (while kids are at school anyway)...any recommendations? Do we need to rent two? Also, if anyone has specific chair recommendations, please let us know! Thanks so much.

LaDonna Mangile All I can recommend is place your order asap....I've been waiting for one to be brought back so I can rent for my surgery in 12 days. If one not available by Monday I will have to do without or buy one. I started the process 4 weeks ago. I however live in a smaller town of 50,000 population.

Lewis Garlisi I rented a hospital type of reclining bed. It was very helpful during the first couple of weeks post surgery, and not too expensive. Climbing stairs may be difficult the first few days. For that reason, you may consider setting him up downstairs.
