Thank you Richard. I'm recovering at home now. The surgery went amazingly successful with no complications. But instead of Mitral Valve repair I got a replacement and a CryoMaze. I was in ICU 29 hours, only bc they didn't have a bed at the regular floor. I was discharged to home the 4th day. I feel very strong and able to do a lot of stuff for myself except the reaching, lifting etc. I was on Tylenol via IV and Robaxin post op and that was enough to manage my pain. I told my surgeon I didn't want opiates and he agreed. Mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual preparation was the key to my fast recovery. This website and all the educational tools out there were very helpful to know what to expect and to go in without fear and anxiety.

Thank you Susan and Ginny. I was starting to panic because I didn't hear from Dr Accola's assistant since Monday. She was suppose to call me for instructions what to do for my pre-Oo requirements. I didn't have my heart cath yet. I finally heard from his clinic today. They said they do the heart cath a day before and it's called a roll over. I will stay at the hospital after my heart cath and have my surgery the next day.. Have you heard of this practice?
