Will's Profile

Most of my adult life I lived an active lifestyle. Over the years I was told I had a heart murmur, but not much was thought about it. In August 2011 that changed. The murmur must have become much louder. A new family doctor sent me for an echo and I was diagnosed with severe Mitral Valve Regurgitation. I was told I would need surgery some day in the future, and to be tested again in a year. One year later I was informed I needed surgery soon. I am scheduled for robotically assisted surgery by Mayo Clinic surgeons on February 21, 2013 at St. Mary's hospital in Rochester, MN.
