About Me (In My Own Words)
I have a planned visit to Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Ga. to be assessed for a JenaValve TAVR procedure. One problem is that I have annulus of 94 MM. The plan is to do another CT Scan next month to determine if that number decreases. I am told that the JenaValve trial will not accept anyone with a annulus of 90 mm or larger.
I would obviously prefer the JenaValve to open heart surgery.
If I cannot qualify for the JenaValve at Piedmont, what would you advise? Should I consider finding a doctor/hospital in Europe has been approved for the JenaValve TAVR procedure?
Ask for an exception to the annulus size criteria? Go ahead and plan for SAVR?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
