About Me (In My Own Words)
My adventure began with an episode of a run away heart beat during an upstate spiritual retreat. I was briefly hospitalized, tested and given medication to control my condition. I was ok for a while but then had another episode and a hospitalization that revealed that I had a bad mitral valve which needed to be replaced. I am approaching the two year anniversary of a bovine mitral valve replacement. I am back exercising, working and leading my life but still have questions about aspects of my recovery. I am especially grateful that I am no longer taking warfarin and the whole routine of testing that it involves.
