About Me (In My Own Words)
On February 2nd, 2020, legendary surgeon Dr. Gosta Pettersson successfully repaired my bicuspid aortic valve and replaced my aortic root and ascending aorta with no complications.
I spent 18 hours in the ICU and five days in the hospital and had an uneventful recovery. Dr. Pettersson’s expertise and skill were evident by the success of the procedure. I had little pain and a wonderful experience at the Cleveland Clinic.
It will likely not be my last operation and I intend to replace my aortic valve with a mechanical valve when it becomes necessary.
