About Me (In My Own Words)
I was initially diagnosed with Mitral valve prolapse back in high school when I was having chest pains. I have not really thought about my condition and recently went to a new primary care doctor and she really noticed my murmur. She said valves can wear out over time and I need to get an Echocardiogram. I did and that is where they noticed my mitral valve is very floppy and I also have severe regurgitation. I am scheduled for surgery on Feb 24 where the Dr. said she needs to repair the "chords" that attach to my mitral valve flaps.
