Originally diagnosed as a teenager (early 1970's) with Mitral Valve Prolapse. Began experiencing sporadic, rapid heartbeats around 2012. In Dec 2015, was admitted to NMH with palpitations. MRI indicated BAV and aortic aneurism. Recommended surgeon was Dr. Chris Malaisrie. Met with him and surgery was scheduled for Feb 2016. AVR surgery and aortic hemiarch graft successfully completed 2/10/2016. Within 6 months, I began experiencing symptoms of A-fib and underwent an ablation procedure on 9/2/16. Everything has been super ever since.
