About Me (In My Own Words)
Hi all,
Actually I'm not the patient, my husband is. I was searching some information for him.
My husband is 41 now, operated for AVR in 2019. Doctors suggested tissue valve due to other health issues of him ( he is diagnosed with NCPF in 2012, so having low platelets count like 42000 ) .
He went under AVR with tissue valve in 2019. After 2 year he had endocarditis infection to the same valve but get cured with long treatment of antibiotics.
Now in regular check up doctors find out that his aortic valve developing high gradient and suggested valve replacement surgery again.
My questions are-
1. He is totally asymptomatic now, having good daily routine. what should we do? go for surgery or how much time we should wait?
2. How many times one can operate his arotic valve?
coz he is just 41 and we have no option than tissue valve whose life cycle is very less than mechanical valve.
