About Me (In My Own Words)
I have been dealing with chest pain/discomfort and fast dizziness for a while. I sought help in 2018, but cardiologist dismissed my concerns. I also had an ED because of chest pain in 2019. I was told I had anxiety. I have been living with chest pain. It is very painful. Here I am, 5 years later with moderate/severe heart valve disease. I got sick with COVID-19 in November 2023. I was home for a week. Chest pain was out of control. I scheduled an appointment with same cardiologist who dismissed my concerns in 2018. I went back to him because my PCP had referred me to him. I had to demand to find out what was wrong with me. He was still not believing me. I got very serious and I told him if you don’t want to treat me, please let me know and I will find a new cardiologist. Then, he took me seriously. I will meet with a cardio surgeon soon. I had some tests done last month. I am also going for a second opinion. I am in shock. I never expected to deal with this serious heart disease.
I am doing the best I can to stay healthy and okay with this disease. I am happy to be here and be part of this great community.❤️
