About Me (In My Own Words)
I had rheumatic fever when I was 9 and again when I was 20 years old.
My mitral valve was replaced in 1976 with a Bjorne shilley (sp) mechanical valve. In 1991 my aortic valve was replaced with a mechanical valve. In 2012 my tricuspid valve was replaced with a tissue valve.
On November 20, 2019 I am scheduled to have both my mitral and aortic valves replaced. Dr. Is not sure whether replacements will be mechanical or tissue valves.
I have been on a blood thinner since 1976.
