Dr. Chikwe is so highly skilled and compassionate, and always treating me and my family with loving kindness in addition to performing a perfect mitral valve surgery. She and Head Nurse Vivian Burkhart and all of Dr. Chikwe's team team worked together to take care of me and always including my close-knit family, including a FaceTime call with our daughter in Paris. I am so deeply touched by Dr. Chikwe's professionalism with great teamwork and collaboration throughout. If any potential patient would like to speak with me at any time, I'd be honored to give them my highest recommendation of Dr. Chikwe. I feel so very fortunate that she performed this highly complicated surgery and am quite certain that if it had been any other doctor, that this could have been a mitral valve replacement instead of the fantastic mitral valve repair. I'm so grateful to Dr. Chikwe for all the care that she gave me and for her wonderful daily visits during my six days in the hospital. After one month after surgery, I'm doing well and walking 3 miles a day (which I never did before!) and am starting cardiac rehab today.
