About Me (In My Own Words)
I was just diagnosed with mild to moderate mitral valve regurgitation, I'm scheduled to have an echo stress within 1 week. Apparently, it cannot be heard during an exam with a stethoscope and was detected during a routine echo.
I have no apparent severe symptoms (shortness of breath, chest pain) other than elevated blood pressure. My doctor is concerned about possible coronary artery disease invlovlement. My carotid arteries show no significant blockages or plaque build up. Not sure how long I've had this and the possible long term implications. Valve problems seem to run in my family. My niece just had open heart surgery for MVP.
Anyone have similar experience?
