About Me (In My Own Words)
All my life I was told I had an innocent heart murmur. Around 2000 I was diagnosed with Lupus. Around 2004 I started being followed for Aortic valve insufficiency. In 2018, after my yearly Echo-Cardiogram, I was referred to a surgeon who said we might still watch for any progression. In 2019 we both agreed to schedule open heart surgery. Due to Covid19 this did not occur until this May.
For the most part I had a good recovery. I no longer take Aldactone for blood pressure; in fact my BP has been low. One complaint I have had was an episodic sense of fullness in my upper mediastinum that seems to be related to a Lupus flare up. I was on steroids for a week which helped tremendously.
Currently I am in cardiac rehab and walking 30 min/day. My blood sugars have recently been on the low side. And, I am Anemic
