I was born with a mitral valve prolapse. I am 66 years old. I have been living happily with the valve prolapse all my life with no symptoms. Untill this week my cardiologist recommended the mitral valve replacement with a pig/cow valve. My Left Atrium is seerious dilated from an echo scan. Of course I am anxious and trying to get more information. I am so glad to find this support group. I know I am not alone and thanks everyone for the contribution of their heart valve journey.
