hello! A little late to the party.. been reading the news letters and blogs for over a year and it has helped me a lot! I was diagnosed with a irregular bicuspid aortic valve about 4 years ago when my primary care doc heard a tiny murmur. in the last 4 years, the heart had been enlarging, afib has been kicking in, the aortic root and hemi-arch were enlarging, all pointing to bad signs. On 1/27, I made the scary trip (yes.. 46.. and it's scary. lol) down the hallway to the OR and had things fixed.. 6 total days in hospital (1 overnight in the cicu and 5 days in the hospital) I made it home. i am sore.. but able to go up and down stairs, walk more each day, and it's good. Not where i was, but getting there. and i can tell you, support is good and this site helped a lot!
