About Me (In My Own Words)
My husband has been having sever pulmonary issues for the past 6 years & has had 2 drug resistant infections (MAC and Nocardia). Has been in bed except to go to work for the past 2 years), coughing, shortness of breath, dizziness, chest pains, night sweats, unable to do hardly anything, He was an avid golfer, but has not golfed in over a year due to his breathing issues. I told his pulmonary doctor that the Nocardia can be very bad on his heart and he agreed. That day he referred him to a cardiologist, which he has been diagosed with Mitral Valve Regurgitation and feels like the valve needs to be replaced. He was unable to run the TEE Test because of severe coughing. The surgeon thinks if his valve is repaired he will be better and able to play his favorite sport of golf. Pulmonary doctor does not think it is as simple as replacing the valve that will make him feel better. We are going to get a second opinion from the Cleveland Clnic and then make our decision on what to do.
