About Me (In My Own Words)
Approximate date of my surgery, it’s been about 5 yrs. I already had low b/p but they have to put you on metoprolol ( I think that’s it) I started fainting and then had a full seizure. Now I can’t drive, have mild seizures periodically, residual brain scar tissue and have to take 1000 mg. of Keppra twice daily to suppress seizures. The Dr. was very defensive, stating “ they have to put you on it” but he should have taken me off as soon as I started fainting. I am grateful they found my congenital defect in a follow up visit from a ladder fall and rushed me into surgery, but it has been really rough on me. I live very rurally, so not driving is terrible, and have suffered quite a few injuries since then, including an accidental gunshot wound cleaning a pistol. I am a recovering alcoholic/ crack addict, should have died from this valve in the 80’s so again I am grateful! My health is actually quite good, put an average of 7-10 miles a day on my fitbit, but i made such a great recovery of my career and marriage. ( I was the gardener of the rich and famous) retired at 56, and have a great retirement income. Love my log cabin in the Redwood covered mountains, obviously I’ve overcome much more then this so I will keep pressing on. Love your website!⛰🌲👨🌾
