About Me (In My Own Words)
I had radiation to my chest to treat cancer when I was 19. When I had my sudden triple bypass when I was 39, I was told I will need a new valve 10yrs down the road. 10yrs later my valve was failing and it was determined that open was too risky and they opted for a TAVR but had to be approved since it was early on in the treatment with TAVR and they were only doing this in 70yo or older and I was 49. The TAVR went great and quick recovery. I felt like a new person an hour after the procedure. Unfortunately today at 57yo, that edwards valve is failing and quickly. I may have to have open heart again so that I can have 2 more TAVRs after that if need so I can live a longer life.
